For Tuesday 3/2

1) Label brain diagram
2) Write a one page essay on either Phineas Gage or Kevin Pearce, answering the following questions:
  • How did the accident affect Kevin/Phineas' brain and behavior?
  • Were other people integral to their recovery? How?
  • What were their limitations? Why?
  • What lessons can we learn from their story?
Make sure you use specific examples from the reading or film.

1) go through a PowerPoint for Critical Thinking, Research and Ethics in Psychology
2) Discuss the NOVA program on "Genie, the Wild Child"
3) Check out this VIDEO on the Barnum Effect!

Homework:
a) Read Ethical Principles handout and complete the accompanying worksheet.
b) Find one controversial Psychological experiment (your choice) and bring your idea to class on Friday.
